Suzan!
Love all your latest posts! And apologies for being out of action for some time.... but now that it's getting cold and dark, I'm starting to settle into hibernation mode, which I look forward to as hanging out at home with Ania with big pots of tea, good music on, and plenty of blog inspirations!
In one of my recent net-wanderings, I came across this great site called Letterheady, which is devoted solely to documenting beautiful letterhead designs. The printed letterhead is pretty much already an outdated piece of communication, but like so many things replaced by new technology, perhaps now it will continue to live on purely as an artform. What used to be a standard business necessity is now blogged about, admired, collected. Not a bad process of evolution! Here are a few that I pulled off the site - I love the diversity, from the ultra-designed Frank Lloyd Wright example, to the surprising subtlety of Marilyn Monroe's, to the ballsy one at the end where the designer humorously advertises himself on the stationery of his client.... hmm, why didn't we think of that? (Or rather, when will we have a client who will let us get away with such things...)
